COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a 3-day didactic and live patient program designed for dental professionals that would like to enhance both their surgical skills and medical management of the dental implant patient.

Primary goal is to assist each participant in achieving a higher level of clinical comfort with simple and surgical extraction of teeth, design and manipulation of surgical flaps, socket grafts, membrane techniques, ridge augmentation and proper suture techniques.

Participants will perform all surgical procedures under the supervision of Surgical specialists both as primary assistant and surgeon.

**This is not a wisdom tooth course rather a preparation for basic oral surgery.

Daily live surgical
procedures on patients

1. Simple and surgical extractions (no wisdom teeth extractions)

2. Aveoloplasty and multiple socket preservation

3. Socket preservation; bone and membrane manipulation

4. PRF; phlebotomy techniques and sticky bone formation

5. Ridge augmentation; incision and suturing techniques

6. Local anesthetic techniques

Daily Lectures include:

1. Surgical concepts

a. Evaluation of extraction defects

b. Flap design for ridge augmentation

c. Extraction site grafts

d. Suture techniques

e. Complications

i. Bleeding

ii. infection

2. Medical assessment and management of dental patient

a. ASA classification guidelines for treatment

b. Pre-medication and prophylaxis

Course Objectives:

• Increase level of comfort with patient assessment for basic oral surgical procedures

• Learn simple and surgical extraction techniques that preserve bone

• Classify extraction defects and perform appropriate graft techniques for predictable results

• Learn the proper armamentarium for leveling bone and soft tissue frenectomy

• Learn flap designs and suturing techniques that achieve consistent primary closure

• Surgical techniques to control bleeding during dental surgery

• Apply techniques to deal with pre-operative and post-operative infection in the dental surgery patient

• Post-surgical protocols and complications.

Regular Tuition: $6,500
Introductory Special: $5,000

Program includes:
• 4 patients per each attending florida licensed dentists
• surgical instruments, PRF unit and biomaterials to be used on patients
• daily lunch
• 40 CE credit hours applied as oral surgery credits.

TUITION INCLUDES:
• 4 patients will be provided for each operating doctor.
• Screened patients, cad/cam surgical guides, guided kits and implants are provided.
• 24 CE credit hours.
